Fitchburg FACTv is one of several organizations and people that were honored by Mayor Aaron Richardson at a special reception on October 25 in the Council Chambers at Fitchburg City Hall.  Fitchburg FACTv, the local Public, Education, and Government (PEG) community media station is this year’s recipient of the staff award.  Mayoral Award recipients are recognized for their community leadership, inspiring service to the community, setting an example for others, and their commitment to and significant impact on Fitchburg.

In his remarks, Mayor Richardson talked about the importance of Fitchburg FACTv in providing access to what’s happening in the city.  “FACTv offers full coverage of public city meetings, a daily newscast called ‘Talking Fitchburg’ and assists our city departments with communication projects,” said the Mayor. “The FACTv staff are second to none and are dedicated to bringing the city together through the many different media platforms that they offer.  Their coverage of city meetings and events is critical for providing information to residents and was especially important throughout the pandemic.  Their work providing access using Zoom has been essential and has enabled the city to continue to allow residents to participate in city government.”

The mayor also praised Jeremy Crosby and the staff for their commitment and for staying abreast of changes in technology and tracking future trends.  By doing so, the Mayor said, FACTv is “providing the best services available to the residents of Fitchburg.”

Sun Prairie Mayor Paul Esser has proclaimed October anti-bullying month in the city of Sun Prairie and in response, the Sun Prairie Media Center is collaborating with the Anti-Bullying Collaborative (ABC) of Sun Prairie to produce and broadcast a yearlong educational series that addresses a wide range of issues associated with bullying.

The ABC of Sun Prairie believes that bullying knows no bounds and can be experienced in every phase of life and in every environment. Bullying can be physically, emotionally, and developmentally damaging for individuals and entire communities, including people of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, and abilities. The new series will explore a wide range of issues associated with bullying.

New episodes in the series will be broadcast every Wednesday at 10:30 AM and Saturdays at 2 PM on KSUN with repeats throughout the week. Shows can also be viewed on demand at sunprairiemediacenter.com/ksun-on-demand.

“We are thrilled to be collaborating with the ABC of Sun Prairie,” said SPMC director Jeff Robbins. “We already have a great relationship with many of the members of the group through other work they do at the Media Center, so it was an easy transition for us to add this program as well. And of course, we support the important work the ABC group is doing and are more than happy to help get that message out to the public.”
