Rice Lake channel goes HD on Mosaic/Celect Communications

Rice Lake Community Media recently upgraded their channel on one of the video service providers in the area to high definition. Celect Communications worked with RLCM to have Channel 993 broadcast with a full HD signal.

Rice Lake Community Media Executive Director James Wyngaard had been working with Mosaic and Celect Communications for just over a year to get the transition completed. Wyngaard said, “The process, while lengthy, turned out remarkably well. Customers of Mosaic/Celect Communications can now enjoy our broadcasts and recordings in the format which they were recorded – high definition.” He continued, “Working with Celect and their General Manager Mike DeMarce and Mosaic’s team led by Vice President of Marketing and Sales Jenifer Mason was streamlined and easy to complete.”  Mason added, “We are more than happy to support your media partnership.”

With the addition of the HD component, Rice Lake Community Media continues to offer viewers and listeners 7 video ways and a low-power FM radio station to stay connected. On the video side, there are channels on 993 in HD on Mosaic/Celect Communications, 992 on Spectrum, over the top apps on AppleTV+, Roku, and Amazon Fire with assistance from Telvue, and our website at ricelaketv.com. RLCM also is included for tv customers who don’t use a set-top converter box on Celect’s own TV Anywhere app.

RLCM intern Amir Ahizoune worked with James to create a PSA that airs on tv and was shared on social media. The PSA explains to viewers how to find content and programming through Rice Lake Community Media. To view the PSA please follow this link.

Rice Lake Community Media was called upon recently to help get the word out about a major grant provided to the Rice Lake Main Street Association. T-Mobile presented a $40,000 grant for a new Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant kayak launch and the Main Street Association asked Rice Lake Community Media to cover the event and spread the good news.

Chris Olsen is a board member for the Main Street Association and said, “With our relationship between the Main Street Association and Community Media, we felt it was important for James [Wyngaard] and Community Media be there to help us inform the community about this important addition to our city’s lakefront.”

The Main Street Association does a monthly program with Rice Lake Community Media to discuss activities and news from around Rice Lake’s central business district.
